Maicon; Mancini became a passion is important to City

Mancini clashed with Aston Villa counterpart Paul Lambert during his team's Capital One Cup defeat in midweek Etihad Stadium. Previously, Mancini has had altercations with Everton manager David Moyes, while during the crucial Manchester derby Italy last year found himself in conflict with Sir Alex Ferguson.

Maicon found all the top-level managers have to show the same determination showed Mancini on the sidelines.

"He could be enthusiastic but it was the way he should, passionate coach who demands high standards. If he gets mad he reminded everyone of the standards required.

"There is a minimum requirement that is always there. Players know they have to perform at that level.

"All the coaches to win is the same so if Sir Alex has a hairdryer, Roberto has the same passion.

"All managers are the same winning spirit they showed it to the players because they really want to win and the players can sense it .. Roberto is no different. He's a winning manager," said Maicon.

Maicon spent three years working under Mancini at Inter Milan, and insisted the relationship was an important factor behind his move to Serie A came out after six years at San Siro.

"Roberto is one of the main factors in choosing this club," said Maicon. "To have someone who has worked with me to help me out. What he wanted and what kind of manager he is."

International Brazil, though, has been hampered by a heel injury since moving to Eastlands, but hope to start turning inconsistent City to campaign this Saturday against Fulham.

"It's hard to say why it went because I had just arrived at the club," he said. "Early season is difficult and many clubs are conceding goals.

"But I know that Roberto was very focused on the things He wants to improve and. We have to improve quickly because we can not afford to have a longer distance between us and the top teams in the league."
