Reports on Wednesday claimed Al-Habsi has emerged as a target for Reds boss Brendan Rodgers, with that claimed bid being prepared for January.
Shape of Al-Habsi has been impressive for the past coupe and the Martinez can understand why the team looked at him, but he insists Wigan is not a selling club and had keeper tied a long-term deal.
"I do not think there's truth behind it," said Martinez. "Any rumors that you can see one of our players I see it as a compliment. You do not get the link if you do not play well.
"We really focus on what we want to accomplish and we are looking to improve the squad, window after window.
"We are relaxed about it. He was on long-term contracts and is an important player for us.
"Rumors will be there, because he was playing well, he has been impressive he has developed as a player and achieve a good level .. But he has a long way to go."
